Varsity White
The YBA varsity white team started out the day strong with a win over the Chico Blazin Heat 44-35. With the struggle of shooting in the beginning, they had to rely on their defense which I would say never looked better. Quincy Shelby and Derek Ainsworth had some huge defensive stops which ended up being dished to Colton Nelson for the layup. In the second game, they beat Patterson Pride 48-29. Jordan Broyles started the game off strong with some great offensive plays. Tony Costa and Garret Rodriguez also had good games scoring and also stopping the ball on the defensive end. Because they won both their games, they played in the championship game against All Star Predators but lost 54-41. They played pretty well both offensively and defensively with help from Darren Centi and Kyle Peterson. Jordan Broyles was huge on the boards which allowed more scoring opportunities for all of our guards.
