Varsity Blue

The YBA varsity blue team went home champions in the one day tournament at Hardwood Palace . They started out with a big win against the Mission City Maulers 65-42. Remi Barry and Aaron Hendricks each had solid games from trading off threes to getting good traps for steals on defense. Cody Borst picked the game up coming off the bench with huge rebounds and some great put backs. To provide height in the middle, Ryan Salmonson was a key player for rebounds. In the second game, they beat AC Marin Navy 57-44. With a slow start at the beginning, John Davis pushed through and made some beast plays in the post. Eric Gee hit a couple of threes to put them back on top which they stayed the rest of the game. Mark Burns and Colin Lee helped both ends by creating good shots and getting good defensive stops. For the championship game, they beat EDH Trojans 56-38. Everyone played very well and created open looks for each player. Colin Lee was a factor in controlling the tempo by playing great defense and getting the ball up the court. John Davis helped get good rebounds to dish up the court to Cody Borst and Eric Gee for layups or jump shots.
