7th Grade White

The 7th grade White team had a very successful weekend going 3-0 and winning their bracket. The first game against the Fairfield Warriors the Dawgs were still sleeping when the referee tipped the ball off and
before we knew it we were down 8-0. Luckily Jared Flowers stopped by Starbucks on the way to the game, and after checking in he provided the needed shot to get the team going. Some mad Dawg defense and two buzzer beaters by Colin McHale and Max O'Rourke gave the Dawgs a two point lead. The second half the Dawgs kicked it into gear and ended up winning 44-37.

The second game against the Buhach Thunder saw Dawgs fall back asleep in the first half ending the half down by two points. We decided to put on the famed Ken Gee "Black Diamond Press" which completely changed the tempo of the game. Jaeden Calton, Vance Gregg, and Colin McHale led the front line charge. Zac Chodes sunk a couple of key baskets and grabbed some big rebounds to help silence the thunder, and the Dawgs brought home the win 47-34.

The Dawgs decided it was not a good idea to give Spirit Got Game a big lead in the Championship so they kicked it into gear once the ball was tipped. Colin Hawkins and Connor Milnes dominated down low, and Max O'Rourke hit some big shots that knocked the spirit out of their game. In the second half, the Dawgs had major foul trouble with 2 players fouling out and 4 other with 4 fouls. With good defense and some key baskets the Dawgs were able to hold on to their lead and win the Championship 54-50! Coach Gregg was happy the game did not go into OT!!
