The YBA Varsity Black team won both their games on Saturday with victories over Nor Cal Hoopsters 53-38 and Nor Cal Select 74-52. John Davis had a great first game from the inside and Aaron Hendricks had his usual game from the outside. Cody Borst and Nico Ruiz both had sparks off the bench to help get the win. In the second game Remi Barry had an all around good game with help from point guard Justin Soria and other post player Marcus Hendrick. In the Championship game on Sunday, they fell to E-Time Hoops 66-59. Mark Burns and Eric Gee created some runs for YBA that either pulled them ahead or got them closer. John Davis was a threat in the post while Aaron hit some key threes. Although they had a great tournament, they missed the heart and soul of the team, Spencer Butterfield who is coming back from an injury that happened last weekend. We all miss him and can’t wait till he comes back.
