The team improves to 19-0 winning the Drew Gooden Extravaganza in Richmond over the weekend.
Team Black battled all weekend to take home the trophy. The 16 team tournament was a good test for the team as they continued to develop on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.
The pool play on Saturday saw YBA Black play well with 2 hard fought victories!!! Saturday night was highlighted by Rex Hime’s 16th birthday dinner at Chevys. It was a great time for all a great opportunity for the team and parents to bond.
Sunday’s semi final game was interrupted when Matt Hayes took an elbow to the forehead and was rushed to the hospital and received 10 stitches. Matt’s new nickname is now Harry Potter. Despite the setback the team responded for a hard fought 10 point victory. The win advanced the black team to the championship game vs. 209 Elite out of Stockton. In this matchup it was all YBA Black controlling tempo and cruising to an easy 20 point victory.
