Overall, a great weekend for the 8th grade Blue team in the Ultimate Basketball Championship tourney @ HWP. First game was against the Arizona Stars, an elite team ranked in the top 10 in the Nation. We hung with them through most of the game, but they pulled away late. Highlight was Kannon Kuhn hustling down the court to block a kid who was just about to dunk the ball in transition...clearly Kannon was not letting that happen! We got a big win in game 2 vs the Select National team, with great 3-point shooting from Lake Lutes, Blake Abercrombie and Cole Bridge. Game 3 was against another strong team--the San Francisco Rebels--a team that went to AAU Nationals last year, and was coming off an upset win over Arizona. We played great--down 2 at halftime, we ended up losing by 10 but had strong overall team performance. Overall...great experience playing top talent from the Western US.
